How do you apply the film?

It is essential to properly prepare the vehicle; this step is crucial for a successful installation and to obtain optimal results.

1. Fill the spray bottle with water; the spray bottle contains a small amount of concentrated lubricant that, when mixed with water, produces a suitable solution. Once the surface has been cleaned and all contaminants removed, spray the mounting solution onto the paintwork area to be protected and peel the part to be mounted from the sheet. Generously spray the adhesive side of the part to be mounted with the mounting solution. This will greatly facilitate positioning the film. Avoid touching the adhesive once it has dried to avoid leaving a fingerprint on the film; wetting your fingers will help prevent fingerprints.

2. Once the film is correctly positioned, begin applying the film, working half the film at a time with a squeegee to expel 100% of the air and liquid from the center outward. Spray the top surface of the film as well to allow the squeegee to slide smoothly. When applying the film to curved panels, there will need to be some tension to allow the film to conform to the contours of the panel. Gently pull in the desired direction and you will see the film naturally conform to the curvature of the panel. Continue to push out any water or air bubbles remaining under the film by moving the squeegee evenly from the center of the film to the outer edges. This will produce a perfectly clear appearance. If the film needs to be repositioned during the application process, partially remove and spray the solution on both the surface to be protected and the adhesive side of the film. If any wrinkles appear in the film, work it toward one edge using the squeegee or your thumb to gently stretch the film.

3. Blot up any excess liquid with a paper towel, and then use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat the film to ensure a strong, long-lasting bond. Do not exceed 80°C.
